Terms of Service

Effective: July 6, 2026  ·  Last updated: July 6, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and The 814 Project, LLC for your use of Meet Riley. Please read them - by using the Service, you agree to them.

Riley is an automated AI service that supports your well-being; it does not provide medical, psychiatric, or emergency care. Riley is software, not a licensed professional, and using it does not create a doctor-patient, therapist-client, or similar relationship. In an emergency, call 911. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).

1. Agreement to these terms

Meet Riley ("Riley," "we," "us") is a product of The 814 Project, LLC (d/b/a Riley). These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of our website and app at meetriley.us and its subdomains (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using it, you represent that you are 18 or older and able to enter into this agreement.

3. What Riley is - and is not

Riley is an automated AI service - a wellness and personal-growth companion powered by artificial intelligence, shaped by someone who has lived this. Its responses are generated by a large language model, not written or reviewed by a human in real time. It offers support, structure, reflection, and encouragement for goals like sobriety, movement, nutrition, and emotional well-being.

Riley is not a medical device or a healthcare, mental-health, or crisis service, and it is not a therapist, doctor, or other licensed professional. It does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition, and its guidance is not medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. Always seek the advice of a qualified professional for those needs, and never disregard professional advice because of something Riley said. Your reliance on the Service is at your own discretion and risk.

Your Clarity score is an automated wellbeing signal generated from your check-ins to help you reflect on your own progress over time. It is not a clinical or diagnostic health measurement.

Your content - the entries, messages, and inputs you provide remain yours. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and use them solely to operate and improve the Service and to provide it to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties (for example, AI, authentication, analytics, payment, email, and hosting providers). We are not responsible for third-party services, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms.

9. Disclaimers

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The 814 Project, LLC from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or others. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination - such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitations of liability - will survive.

13. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Montana, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the state and federal courts located in Montana will have jurisdiction over any dispute that is not otherwise resolved, and you consent to venue there. Nothing here limits any rights you cannot waive under the law that applies to you.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are material, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
